At approximately 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, Tunica County Sheriff’s Office obtained information that an individual with outstanding warrants was inside a residence at Bankston Arms Apartments. After following up on a Crime Stoppers Tip, Tunica County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and Emergency Response Team arrived at 1390 Bankston Road Apartment 507 in an attempt to locate Eric Sayles, who was wanted for Sale of Narcotics (to wit Cocaine) from Circuit Court.
On arrival, deputies observed Mr. Sayles in the residence at which time Mr. Sayles re-entered the apartment and locked himself in. At this point, officers secured the apartment complex and the surrounding area. Pafford Ambulance Service and Tunica Volunteer Fire Department were notified to stand by in the general area for assistance if needed. Upon entry to the residence, deputies observed Mr. Sayles in the attic of the complex. After several minutes, Eric Sayles, black/male of 1390 Bankston Road Apt. 507 was arrested and charged with the Sale of Cocaine.
Sayles is currently being held at the Tunica County Detention Center pending bond being set by a Circuit Court Judge.
Derrick Sayles, brother to Eric Sayles, of the same address, was also arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, which carries a bond of $500.00. Additional charges may be pending.
