The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office has charged two people in connection with the recent casino robberies.
- April 28, 2014 – Bally’s Casino was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money.
- May 31, 2014 – Bally’s Casino reported that another armed robbery. The suspect did not receive any money, but discharged a weapon inside the casino.
- June 2, 2014 – Fitz Casino was robbed at gunpoint. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.
Anthony West, 43, of Robinsonville has been charged with three counts of conspiracy to armed robbery, two counts of felon in possession of firearm and felony controlled substance. West’s bond was set at $780.000.
Frank Pope, 59, of Robinsonville has been charged with three counts of conspiracy to armed robbery. Pope’s bond was set at $60,000.
The robber has been identified as Johnny Clark of Grand Rapid, Michigan. Clark is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information of the whereabouts of Johnny Clark is urged to call Tunica Crime Stoppers (662-910-0400) or your local law enforcement agency.
The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI), Desoto County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, Memphis Police Department Aviation Unit, U.S. Marshall Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the general public for their assistance in the investigation of these armed robberies.
This investigation is on-going and more arrests are expected to be made.
