Be Prepared!
September marks National Preparedness Month, the annual recognition to remind everyone in America how important it is for individuals, families and communities to prepare for disasters and emergencies that can happen at any time.
In America, we pride ourselves on emerging from every crisis stronger than when we entered it. That is because our people are resilient - and when we are prepared for disasters seen and unforeseen, we can meet every challenge together.
Step 1: Make a Plan!
How will I receive emergency alerts and warnings? What is my shelter plan? What is my evacuation route? What is my family/household communication plan?
Step 2: Build a Supply Kit!
A supply kit is a must when planning for potential disasters. You need to make sure you and your family have the necessary food and supplies to sustain you until the power returns or help arrives.
Step 3: Be Informed!
Emergency Alerts: You can receive important lifesaving alerts no matter where you are - home, school, or work. Following our Facebook page and our website at www.tunicamssheriff.com is a great way to stay up to date.
