Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the homicide that occurred on Monday night, September 2, 2024, of Vandarren McCray at Kirby Estates Apartments. These two individuals are in custody of the Tunica County Sheriff's Office for questioning as well as the outstanding warrants.
A search warrant was served today, September 4, 2024, at 4:12 p.m. at Kirby Estates Apartments located in Robinsonville, MS. These two were taken into custody without incident with warrants from Texas and Louisiana.
Tanio Hall, 30-year-old, black male was arrested in regard to outstanding warrants out of Texas for:
- Weapon Offense
- Failure to Appear
Tavion Crutchfield, 23-year-old, black male was arrested in regard to outstanding warrants out of Louisiana for:
- False Imprisonment
- Battery of Dating Partner - Child Endangerment

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at approximately 7:52 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call advising an individual had been shot at 2669 Kirby Road in Robinsonville, MS. Sheriff deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, sheriff deputies located one male subject with gunshot wounds. Pafford made scene but the individual succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Tunica County Coroner Glen Grant.
The deceased subject has been identified as 38-year-old Vandarren Marqueze McCray of Clarksdale, MS.
