Mighty Lions Homecoming Parade
09/20/2024
Homecoming brings together students, parents, alumni and friends to celebrate their Lion spirit through athletic events, activities and entertainment. We joined fellow Tunica Lions in the time-honored tradition of the Homecoming Parade. This parade had a dazzling procession of floats, marching bands, students, the royal court, and other spirited participants decked out in their best gold and green.
Tunica County Sheriff's Office adorned the parade with its float of a beautiful show of pink to honor the courageous people who battle cancer. The float was dedicated in honor of the late Doris Ann Harris. She shared her vision for a Breast Cancer Awareness Float in the 2023 Homecoming Parade and our team was honored to bring it to life. We lost Mrs. Doris Harris recently and have missed her terribly since her passing. We were honored to have a banner on our float this year with her bright and shining smile from riding the float in last year's parade, as we keep her legacy alive.
Thank you to the ladies that joined our department and proudly rode our float. Each of them is unique in their own stories of battling cancer and being survivors. Our prayers go out
to the brave men and women that have fought, are currently fighting, that will one day fight, and those that have lost their battle to the horrific disease known as cancer.
